Category 3. Hifzul Qur’an Division

About the Subject

Brief Introduction Students of the Hifz Division will complete their Hifz, including Nazira completion, within a total of 4 years and will sit for the Hifz examination under Befaqul Madarisil Arabia Bangladesh. The Hifz syllabus is not strictly year-based but depends on merit. However, the maximum duration in this division is four years. If someone needs more time, a decision is made upon consultation. For students in the Hifz Division, daily practice (sometimes with a cassette of a renowned Qari) is mandatory under the supervision of the teacher to recite with correct Tajweed and in an excellent tone. A special Tajweed and practice class is arranged, where attendance is compulsory for all Hifz students. It is well accepted that a Hifz student must dedicate full time with focus and concentration to memorization. Therefore, Hifz remains the main objective, while other subjects are secondary. Given this, it is difficult for them to fully master primary-level general subjects. Thus, they receive Bengali lessons for a short time daily, so they become reasonably familiar with the subject. If there is some weakness in Bengali while focusing on Hifz, efforts are made to address it through continuous work in the later Kitab Division.
